SONGS OF DUST AND SHADOW

Exploring electronic textures and dreamlike atmospheres, composer and instrumentalist Corciolli presents SONGS OF DUST AND SHADOW, an original album that features 9 new tracks and 2 reinterpretations.

With a minimalist approach, the selection od songs reflects a coherent set of sound experiments, carefully selected timbres and textural arrangements. For the listener, who is immediately transported to the heart of the sounds, SONGS OF DUST AND SHADOW provides a unique experience: By navigating through the composer’s suggestive musical universe, we can create and deepen connections between inner and outer worlds, between the visible and the intangible, between dust and shadow…

Produced over a period of 6 months, the album presents seventies electronic sounds, inspired by the sound universe of artists such as Tomita, Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk and Brian Eno. But it is with the use of echo effects and ethereal reverberations that Corciolli builds the atmospheric and engaging narrative present in the album. Despite being instrumental, the songs build emotional bonds through themes such as technology, interpersonal relationships, nostalgia, futurism, loneliness and belonging. Corciolli composed, played and produced the entire album, which has a single and illustrious special guest on the song Yūgen: Brazilian soprano Carmen Monarcha, a member of Andre Rieu’s orchestra for years.

Corciolli’s musical work offers a repeated invitation to contemplation, inner journeys and the search for a connection (increasingly necessary) with the essential within us. By expanding stylistic boundaries, amalgamating different musical genres, his music floats between universes, leaving sonic traces that last far beyond the last sounding notes.
